Kennedy Industries Overview
Kennedy Industries, a division of The Kennedy Center is located on Garden Street in Bridgeport, CT.
At first glance our location has all the trappings of a typical New England brick warehouse or mill. A peek inside reveals much of the same, a receiving dock, fork lifts, wooden pallets, commercial floor scales, well lighted space and an elevator to our second floor.
However, Kennedy Industries is so much more than the structure it occupies.
- It is our “processing center” where we review, analyze and respond to the many requests that we receive for our services.
- Simultaneously, this structure functions as our educational core where the various nuances of each unique job are explained.
- Additionally, it is our primary production facility.
If you go beyond that small peek, you will see tables, chairs, equipment, jigs of all types, and most of all people. In all actuality our real business is people. Our greatest resource and strength is our ability to provide sufficient numbers of skilled and motivated individuals, regardless of disability, to be ready at a moments notice to begin a new project.
Part of the Kennedy Center’s mission statement is to tap and harness our client’s raw energy and talent by focusing it towards meaningful and mutually beneficial work projects.
- Some work comes into this facility where it is directly processed.
- Other work may be fed to a subsidiary of Kennedy Industries.
- A third option is to use our Supported Employment program, where an enclave can be situated for clients to work right at the customer’s facility.
All our people are supervised by either trained vocational instructors or job coaches. This person’s main goal is to see that your quality control standards are consistently met. Furthermore, any piece work whether completed at our main facility or a satellite, is double checked using standardized quality control methods before any product is released.
If we are not confidant that the job requested of us cannot be done in a quality fashion and within your time frame, we will not take it!
Other assets readily available to Kennedy Industries include:
- Two State certified time study specialists.
- On-site product control.
- On-site professionally trained supervisors (CPR, First Aid, CPI).
- Backup workers and staff to ensure work continuity.
- Competitive pricing structure based on hourly or piece rates.
- Truck pick-up and delivery when requested.
Kennedy Industries offers a wide range of services from very simple, repetitive tasks (which often save companies the most money, rather than using temp agencies) to producing complex electrical connectors.
Generally our jobs fall into one of the following categories:
- Assembly * Shrink Wrapping
- Product Inspection * Heat Sealing
- Handwork * Fulfillment
- Packaging (all types) * Warehousing
Additionally, Kennedy Industries is able to manufacture elastic ace bandages in a variety of sizes, cloth Johnny coats for hospitals and clinics, and beauty/health spa treatment gowns. These can be made under your very own label.
